Wednesday, 1/21/2026, 7PM, Educational Meeting: “Winter Birding in Florida” by Lauri Shaffer

January 21 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Winter Birding in Florida
Florida is an incredible place to go birding in the winter, with close to 6000 hotspots and 584 species observed throughout the state according to eBird. Since retirement, my husband and I have enjoyed spending a month or two every winter birding all over Florida in our RV. In this presentation, you will see photos and videos of the beautiful birds from each of the major sections of the state on the Great Florida Birding Trail. Snail Kites, Roseate Spoonbills, Florida Scrub Jays, Burrowing Owls, and wild parrots will all be highlighted, making for a very colorful program!
Lauri Shaffer is an avid birder and photographer from Muncy, PA. She loves to travel, lead bird walks, and give educational programs. Her photos can be found on the Seven Mountains Audubon page.
