DESCRIPTION:More information about the Great Background Bird Count (February 16-19).\n\nTo Participate with a group on this Saturday 2/17/24 – Everyone is invited to join John Slottterback for his annual Great Backyard Bird Count weekend walk through Catawissa on Saturday\, February 17th at 8:00AM\n\nMeet at the parking lot by the River Bridge\, Main Street and South 1st Street. We will wander along the Catawissa Creek\, cross rt 42 (Main Street)\, head to the Hollingshead Covered bridge and then hike back through town to check out the River from the Bridge. Be prepared for an invigorating and fun hike. With all the varied habitats almost any of our winter birds and birder friends are possibilities.\n

SUMMARY:Bluebird Birdhouse Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, February 17\, 2024 AT 1 PM – 4 PM EST \nRegister by February 10 by emailing Support@MontourPreserve.org. \nThe program will begin with an informative presentation on the natural history of bluebirds and their conservation. It will explain why putting up a bluebird nest box is so important and fun.\nAfter the presentation\, each child will receive a bluebird nest box kit. Following along step-by-step instructions\, each participant will assemble the kit into a bluebird box ready for placement. A handout will provide information on the proper placement\, monitoring and care of the box. All materials and tools necessary to build the box will be provided.\nNote: Spaces are limited (25) and pre-registration is required.
